Kartikai month dates 2011

Kartikai month begins from 13th October 2011 this year and finshes on 10th novemeber as per hindi calendar, it starts on a Thursday and ends too on a Thursday. As per our Vedas it is one of the most sacred month of the year. It is characterized with the Sun’s entry into Scorpio and is the eight month of the year. Sage Narada enquired of Lord Brahma as to which was the best month of a year, who was the best Deity to worship and which is the best Tirtha to visit. Brahma’s instant reply was that the best month of a Year was Kartika, the Supreme Deity to worship was Narayana and the most Sacred Tirtha was Badari Kshetra. As regards Kartika Month, Bhagavan Vishnu always accorded high esteem and whatever good deeds were performed in the ‘Masa’ were fully accepted by all the Devas since they were readily available there through out the month.
Kartik Sankranti will start in Cancer Ascendant, Mrigshira Nakshatra on Krishna Panchami(fifth). This sankranti will be profitable for the businessmen. Worshipping Lord Vishnu, and lighting candles in the roots of Tulsi and Peepal tree is of great importance in the month of Kartik.
Ahoi Ashtami fast is observed on the Ashtami(eighth) of Krishna Paksha in Kartik month. This festival is celebrated on the same day on which Diwali is celebrated.
The Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha , Kartik month is called Rama Ekadashi. Observing this Ekadashi reduces the biggest of the big sins of life. Lord Shri Vishnu is worshipped in Ekadashi.
Dhan Trayodashi is on Monday in Uttarafalguni Nakshatra. Dev Dhanwantari was born on the day of Dhan Trayodashi. Dhan Trayodashi is also called Dhanteras. buying and bringing silver idols of Shri Ganesh and Mata Laxmi in the auspicious Muhurt of Dhanteras keeps the flow of wealth and comfort throughout the year.
the birthday of Lord Hanuman is on Wednesday,25 of October. Today people worship hanumaanji. And specially those who has a mangaldosh in horoscope or malefic mars is there they should perform puja this auspicious day.
Diwali will be celebrated on Wednesday, Amavasya of Kartik Krishna Paksha, Chitra Nakshatra. It is celebrated to commemorate the return of Lord Ram and His wife Sita to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile. Diwali is a festival when people revel into the merriment by lavish celebrations.
Govardhan Festival is celebrated on Pratipada of Kartik Shukla Paksha. Govardhan Pooja began when Lord Shri Krishna lifted Govardhan hill on one finger to break the.ego of Indra.
